KNOCK2 BACKGROUND:

Introducing our headliner for Sunset Fest 2024.... Knock2!!! Born Richard Nakhonethap, Knock2 is a rising star, after starting out as a humble DJ hailing from San Diego. After bursting onto the electronic dance music scene in 2019 with a collaboration with fellow DJ ISOxo named “Radial”, Knock2 has only continued to climb the charts. In 2022, the demand to see his energy live became palpable. Knock launched his debut headline show experience, “Room202” to a rabid sold-out Los Angeles audience. A conceptual warehouse show that prioritizes massive party energy and an intimate experience over the typical high-production concert that currently dominates dance music. The impact was immediate, with fans all over the globe begging for a Room 202 experience in their area. 2023 has been a landmark year for the rising star. After releasing his widely acclaimed “Room 202 EP”, which featured massive anthems such as “MAKE U SWEAT!”, and “rock ur world”, Knock took his Room 202 concept around the country for his debut headline tour. The exclusive 9-date tour was an immediate success, with all dates selling out instantly; which led to a series of venue upgrades and an additional 4 dates, which all followed suit, selling out before the tour had even started. His stardom has only risen from there, performing at Coachella, North Coast Festival, and many more major festivals. He recently has performed all around the globe as part of his project with IsoXo, "ISOKNOCK" and has been selling out his hometown of San Diego and the Bay Area for headlining shows.

BAKAR BACKGROUND:

Introducing our Direct Support for Sunset Fest….BAKAR!! Born Abubakar Baker Shariff-Farr, emerged in the music scene with his genre-blending style that fuses elements of indie rock, hip-hop, and alternative R&B. His debut mixtape, Badkid, released in 2018, quickly garnered attention for its fresh sound and innovative approach. His breakthrough came with the release of his single “Hell N Back” in 2019, which became a viral hit and earned him widespread acclaim. The song charted internationally and solidified BAKAR as a rising star in the music industry. “Hell N Back” was featured on his 2019 EP Will You Be My Yellow?, which further expanded his fan base and introduced his music to a global audience. BAKAR’s debut studio album, Nobody’s Home, was released in 2022 to critical acclaim. The album featured a mix of introspective lyrics and genre-defying production, with standout tracks like “First Time” and “Free”. The album’s success positioned BAKAR as one of the most exciting and innovative artists in contemporary music. His latest album, Halo, released in September 2023, continues to push musical boundaries. The album explores themes of love, identity, and self-discovery, and includes tracks that blend his signature sound with new experimental elements. Halo has been praised for its creativity and depth, further cementing BAKAR’s status as a trailblazer in the music industry.

HOJEAN BACKGROUND:

Introducing our Opener for Sunset Fest...HOJEAN! Hojean is a self-taught musician, artist, and producer born and raised in New York/currently based in the outskirts of Atlanta. Throughout the last two years, Hojean has brought his artistry across the globe, selling out multiple headlining North American tours, a tour in Asia, and festival performances. Hojean’s debut EP, Swing, released at the end of 2022 – came directly off his debut festival performance on the Main Stage at Head in the Clouds in Los Angeles and headline tour which was entirely sold out. As a first-gen Asian/American, Hojean’s music and artistry serve as a platform to inspire other creatives and to prove that Asian artists in America can be domestic stars with a global reach.
