LOCAL LIMELIGHTS

The ASUCD Entertainment Council is proud to support local student artists by providing them with a platform to shine through Local Limelights! These events are created to allow emerging student musicians to showcase their talents to the wider UC Davis community. Whether it’s an acoustic set at the COHO or a full band performance in the MU Quad, we strive to create welcoming spaces where students can share their music. We love seeing the energy and creativity that each performer brings to the stage, and we are excited to continue growing Local Limelights across campus!

MOVIE SCREENINGS

If you thought that the Entertainment Council was just music, think again! We also put on free movie screenings for students every quarter at the classic Varsity Theatre in downtown Davis, as well as Cruess Hall on campus. For any movie lovers out there, we have brought advanced screenings of some of the most popular movies of the last few years, including A Star is Born, the Justice League, and The Big Sick. Recently, we've worked with the A24 Studio to gain access to early screenings of their newest films!!

SPECIAL EVENTS

We are also proud to host special events curated by our Board of Directors, designed to bring unique and exciting entertainment experiences to UC Davis students. Continuing EC’s tradition of thinking outside the box, we strive to create innovative events that introduce new ways to experience music on campus. Whether it’s hosting a Boiler Room-style show or crafting an intimate performance at the Silo inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series, the Entertainment Council is always exploring new ways to bring music to our community. With each event, we aim to foster a vibrant and diverse music scene that reflects the creativity of our students.
