The Mondavi Center Aggie Arts Program is proud to present the Magik*Magik String Quartet, a subset of the San Francisco based Magik*Magik Orchestra. Magik*Magik’s mission is to attract new listeners and participants to the orchestral experience. Members of the orchestra have shared the stage with a diverse and celebrated group of artists ranging from John Vanderslice to Death Cab for Cutie. During their Mondavi Center debut, the Magik*Magik String Quartet will explore the duality between chaos and order by performing pairings of music illustrating the contrasts that exist within musical styles.

The Asian American Association Film Festival is held annually and seeks to showcase Asian and Asian American films that break the stereotype of Asians in the mainstream American media. In addition to screening full-length films, the Asian American Association also screen shorts and invite keynote speakers from some of the films. The

When his brother is killed in a robbery, paraplegic Marine Jake Sully decides to take his place in a mission on the distant world of Pandora. There he learns of greedy corporate figurehead Parker Selfridge’s intentions of driving off the native humanoid “Na’vi” in order to mine for the precious material scattered throughout their rich woodland. In exchange for the spinal surgery that will fix his legs, Jake gathers intel for the cooperating military unit spearheaded by gung-ho Colonel Quaritch, while simultaneously attempting to infiltrate the Na’vi people with the use of an “avatar” identity. While Jake begins to bond with the native tribe and quickly falls in love with the beautiful alien Neytiri, the restless Colonel moves forward with his ruthless extermination tactics, forcing the soldier to take a stand – and fight back in an epic battle for the fate of Pandora.
